To be frank, while some of the themes and plot lines in Succession may be a bit overdramatized for TV, there were many articles at the time coming out by people who had studied billionaires, executive assistants who had worked for billionaires, etc. They all remarked that the two things Succession really captures is that these people are living a life that us normal people can never imagine, but also that the distrust between family members has been present in virtually every billionaire family they’ve encountered. It’s such an insane level of wealth that it turns people into primal fucking animals.

But I digress, this level of dysfunction is typical for nepo-run entities. It's crazy how an organization as big (and influential) as the Lakers was being run as a mom-and-pop shop for so long and by such incompetence.
